I can't believe it is August already. Seems like the nice weather flies by here in Ohio.
My vegetable garden has produced a lot of tomatoes this year but not so much from the peppers, cucumbers, and squash. Right now we have more tomatoes than we can eat.
I did some other things outside this year that took quite a bit of time and am still not quite done with one of the task. Hopefully I will get it done in the next few weeks. I planted a ton of flowers and for the most part they are still adding tons of color to my yard.
July was a truly busy month that included a root canal and crown, The Americana Festival, and a two week vacation to Ireland, London, Paris, and Rome with my daughter and oldest granddaughter. I look forward to returning to Rome. The trip through Ireland inspired me to plant some hydrangeas. I had to move some things around to clear the area where I planted two of them. In the process of clearing the area I managed to stir up a hornet's nest. I got stung by two of them and had a pretty severe reaction to the venom. I have been taking a lot of benadryl and icing the affected areas. Hornets are definitely bad ombres!
We also had two grandkids playing travel ball this summer and both of those are done for the year. We had several weekend tournaments to attend along with their league games. The fall sport schedule will be less hectic, so I will have more creative time.
I applied for three new craft shows/festivals for this year and was accepted by two of them. Updates will be forth coming.
For those who may not know it, I am a big football fan and play in several fantasy football leagues. Need to turn on the NFL Network to get some insight before my fantasy drafts that are scheduled for later this month.
For now, I am signing off and headed to the scrapbook room. I am currently working on an explosion box made with pirate patterned papers. I think it will be really cute when it is finished. I know what my next couple of projects will be and am looking forward to sharing them with you.
